Our World: If we watch the news, we learn that Brazil has quietly started enriching uranium, the same as Iran. Brazil has kept some parts of their enrichment process out-of-sight, supposedly because some of their enrichment process equipment is advanced and proprietary, and they wish to retain the commercial advantage of the exclusive use (and possible sale) of such technology. Now, Brazil has a socialist and somewhat Marxist government. Their President is good buddies with both Chavez & Castro. As such, Brazil is clearly as much of a "threat" as is Iran. However, nobody appears to be advocating using bunker buster nukes on Brazil! The fact is that both Brazil and Iran are sovereign nations which should be allowed to go their way in peace to refine nuclear materials as they see fit. Nuclear power would allow Iran to sell more oil. Nuclear power would allow Brazil to cut the use of expensive natural gas which they must purchase from neighboring countries. If they do divert some uranium into weapons grade uranium, so what? Neither have the technology to deliver it any great distance. Iran is all but surrounded by nuclear powers: Israel, Pakistan, India, Russia, and US forces in Iraq. Correspondent Eric Margolis claims that Israel has the world's only operational antimissile system. Iran has surely noted the "respect" given to North Korea once their "nukes" came out of the closet. As such, the more we "saber rattle" against Iran, the more likely it is that they will try to speed up any clandestine program to develop nuclear weapons. Deterence will work. We don't need to worry about Iran or Brazil developing nuclear weapons unless we plan on, some day in the future, invading them as we did Iraq. 5/8/06
Iran is going to build a nuclear bomb in 16 days! Yes, the same folks who told us of mushroom clouds over American cities courtesy of Saddam, of "drones of death", and of various "Weapons of Mass Destruction" and a strange love affair between Saddam and Cousin Bin, are now telling us this new story. Yes, AFTER Iran builds tens of thousands of centrifuges which they don't have now, they could, in theory, convert their process from tons of low grade uranium suitable for power plants to kilograms of weapons grade uranium. Will they do it? If so, who can blame them. Israel has over two hundred nukes. King George W. is rattling his saber. Pakistan has nukes. India has nukes. North Korea has nukes. Lots of folks have nukes.Any nation has a right to defend itself. When is the use of a nuclear weapon justified? I can really only think of two circumstances. The first is to repel a foreign invasion of your own country. As such, the weapon would be used on one's own territory. Would Iran be justified in defending itself on its own territory? The other would be in retaliation for a nuclear strike from another country. As such, the purpose would be both retaliation and to discourage further strikes. In each case, the target should be military targets, rather than cities. Leave Iran alone. The Iranians won't attack Israel unless first attacked. They want to sell their oil, not live a slow death in a nuclear wasteland. The fact that their President seems to enjoy making provocative statements for the enjoyment of his political constituency in Iran is no reason to kill tens or hundreds of thousands of Iranians. 4/18/06
Spreading Democracy - It's in the news that our puppet government in Afghanistan might try and execute a man for converting from Islam to Christianity; that is, if they don't simply declare him to be "mad" and lock him away to conveniently die out of the spotlight somewhere. Why are we expending American blood and treasure to put such governments in place? The idea of "democracy" in the Middle East is a farce unless you think that empowering crazy Iranian style Mullahs or crazy Bin Laden types is a good idea. Our presence over there simply makes it easier for the crazies to gain power. We should listen to what George Washington and Thomas Jefferson told us. Let's bring home our troops NOW and leave them alone. Also, let's keep our money at home; foreign aid is authorized nowhere in our Constitution. They have oil, they don't need our money. 3/23/06
In their efforts to kill or capture an Iraqui resisting foreign occupation forces, our military leveled a house and killed around 13 civilians, including women and children. If Germans had done that to the French back in World War #II, they would have been condemned as war criminals. Is it not time we rediscovered our consciences, once again? Why have we allowed ourselves to become monsters? How many more "terrorists", determined to kill any American, anywhere, anytime, have been created by this incident? 3/16/06
The Chinese' Communist Government is delighted to see the US remain bogged down in Iraq. That "War" is bleeding our nation both militarily and economically. 3/9/06
Now, the UN wants to control the Internet. Visit the links to "The New American". After you've read the articles on the subject, follow their links to online "letters to our elected officials" opposing this. 11/14/05
There have been offers of help regarding Katrina from various foreign lands. Many offered help out of geniune concern and the desire to do right. Thank you and God Bless You. Others offered help as a cynical propaganda ploy. They know what's in their hearts. Although, in view of how offensive our national government has been, I can't much blame them. We must insist: NO UN TROOPS IN THE US! 9/8/05 |

It is interesting to note the differing destinations for campaign contributions from military personnel
as compared to the Defense Industry. The Presidential Candidate who led in campaign contributions from Military Personel for
the past two quarters was Congressman Dr. Ron Paul, who is noted for having opposed the Iraq invasion from the start and for
his opposition to an unprovoked attack on Iran. He correctly notes that wars which are fought without the Constitutionally
required Declaration of War from Congress are both illegal and end badly. He would follow the recommendations of George Washington,
John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, bringing the troops home from our Undeclared Wars and Entangling Alliances.
On the other hand, the candidate raising the most contributions from the Defense Industry has been Hillary Clinton. The "Defense Industry" apparently believes that it can make the most money from another Clinton administration. Hillary was eager to invade Iraq, with her criticism being that she would have managed it better. She is also eager to attack Iran, perhaps even with nuclear weapons. While she's at it, US military activity would increase in Africa, Europe, and just about every where else on the globe. The money would roll in to the "Defense" Industry. Just as our Freedoms have been attacked by the Bush Administration under the guise of the War on Terrorism/Drugs/You Name it, our Freedoms would be further attacked and eroded by the wars to be fought under a new Clinton administration (as well as under the administration of a Republican McRomnianni). James Madison warned us: "If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy." and "The means of defense against foreign danger historically have become the instruments of tyranny at home". We need more that just a Dr. Ron Paul Presidency if we wish peace, freedom, and prosperity. We also need a minimum of 218 Dr. Ron Pauls in the House of Representatives. Having witnessed reports of the "Pro (Amnesty for Illegal) Immigrant" rallies
from around the country, including here in Chattanooga, I wonder as to if us natural born citizens can also get amnesty for
speeding tickets, DUI's (no, I've never had one), thefts, assaults, jay walking, failing to "buckle up", etc etc.. It's definately
time to contact our Congressman and Senators & tell them: no amnesty - foreigners as well as Americans must obey the law.
Don't reward the law breakers. Enforce our laws and protect our borders. 5/2/06
Two Thoughts - Mexico has some good common sense immigration laws: you don't
come in without permission, you have to show that you can support yourself, & immigrants ("guests") stay out of politics.
What's good for the Mexican goose out to be good for the American gander. Also, it's not likely that the House version of
"Immigration Reform" would ever make it through the Senate, so maybe what we should demand is "No New Immigration Laws" this
year - "Enforce the Laws You Already Have!!!!". (Yes, the House version is "tough", but I don't think it was particularly
intelligently written). An "Amnesty/Shamnesty" Law would just set us up for more illegal immigration now and another amnesty
10 years down the road. 4/21/06
Is there any job which can't be "outsourced" out of the country or for which
they can't find a cheap immigrant? It's not just greedy CEO's. Government policy is also to blame. 3/31/06
The more we see of the craziness in the oil rich Middle East, the more it becomes
apparent that our Federal Government's policy of hamstringing our domestic power supply is insane. If our electric power producers
were free to use modern and safe "breeder reactors", electric power would be cheap enough that a significant portion of drivers
would switch to totally electric cars, lessening our dependence on foreign oil. No, that makes too much sense. It's better
to go half way around the world and invade sovereign nations in order to control their oil.

I wonder if my "WEB Host" provider (clicksouth.net) has received one of those
"secret" National Security Letters demanding information about me? I'll never know, as they'd go to prison if they told me.
Oh well, as George Bush said of our Constitution & the Bill of Rights: "It's just a Goddamned Piece of Paper".
3/16/06
The Bill of Rights is viewed by many as a key part of the Constitution. Sadly,
George Bush is not one of them. He claims the power of a King, an Emperor, a Dictator, and an absolute despot to do whatever
he wants as a part of his "War on Terror". It is up to us to rein him in through our Congressman and Senators. Do not count
on the Federal Courts to do so. He has been busy packing the courts with those who will uphold his lust for absolute power.
Contact your Congressman and Senators. 1/31/06
"Licensed to Kill" was one of the trademarks of James Bond. A few months back,
British Police executed an innocent Brazilian immigrant because they were too trigger happy. They then lied to cover up. The
same has now happened here, where TSA "Air Marshalls" gunned down an innocent Costa Rican immigrant, Rigoberto
Alpizar (he was a US citizen, if I remember correctly, was employed by Home Depot, and was well spoken of by his neighbors).
The man had a panic attack and ran off the airplane, his wife behind him, yelling for him to calm down (and telling people
"he's bipolar - he didn't take his medicine"). Two TSA Air Marshalls followed him and gunned him down after he was off the
plane. They claimed he said that he had a bomb and was reaching into his backpack. Yet, passengers report the man never said
anything at any time - even in the jetport. Lies and coverups!
December 2005 Statistics
# Innocent Americans killed on Airplanes by terrorists - 0
# Innocent Americans killed on Airplanes by TSA Air Marshalls - 1
By the way, after executing the man, Federal Agents then proceeded to terrorize the other
passengers.
Another report came out later about another flight with a mentally ill man on board. In
this case, there were no Air Marshalls aboard. When the man clearly became a threat, other passengers restrained him while
the crew put "flexcuffs" on him. Nobody was killed. Maybe there's a lesson here. Let's keep James Bond in the movies
and off our airplanes! 12/12/05
It's sad when our senators seem more concerned with who leaked news of the existence
of "secret torture facilities" rather than their existence. 11/14/05
The Katrina debacle has been disgusting. The only bright spot has been in private
relief efforts.
- Federal money for levie repairs were diverted to Iraq & "The War on Terror". Constitutionally,
the levies should have been maintained by the city and the state. Maybe they've learned to handle it themselves & not
trust the Feds after this.
- Where was the National Guard? Oops - they're over in Iraq helping to kill Iraquis!
- When military units did arrive, they treated New Orleans like a war zone, to include pointing
their rifles at people simply peacefully moving through the city. Yes, there are those deserving of jail time; but they have
their right to trial by jury. The soldiers can't be judge, jury, & executioners. We don't need to have our military,
particularly the National Guard, being overseas in occupied countries where they learn to treat "the natives" cruelly and
visciously. How does invading countries half way around the world make us more safe or increase our freedom? (NOTE - it doesn't!!!!!)
- The looting which occured was not a reflection on any race or creed, but rather a damning
indictment of the Welfare System, which destroys or prevents the formation of families and encourages everlasting dependence
on the government rather than on themselves, their families & friends, & their churches.
- "Law Enforcement", FEMA, and the "military" actively hindered or turned away help from
the private sector, far worsening the suffering of Katrina's victims.
- Most of the people displaced from New Orleans will need jobs elsewhere. Maybe it's time
to halt illegal immigration and all this talk of "guest worker" programs. Give the Katrina victims the opportunity for self
respect which comes from having a job rather than being dependent on some government drone giving them a check.

Poor Congressman Wamp is getting alot of attention right now. In announcing another run,
he has abandoned his original pledge to limit himself to "X" number of terms. Quite frankly, the original pledge was foolish
to start with. What has upset me about Zach was his deception regarding CAFTA, his support for the tyrannical "Patriot Act",
his continuing refusal to bring our troops home from overseas, his love of spending money (does a $8.5 TRILLION national debt
sound like a problem to be addressed?), and his seeming inability to read the Constitution. Before the last election, he took
the pledge from the Republican Liberty Caucus. He appeared to forget the principles in that pledge the day after the election.
Is there a chance that the Libertarian Party and Constitutional Party could agree on the principle of Federalism and jointly
run a candidate against him, so we don't have to settle between "bad and badder"? Oh well, one can only dream. 8/12/05
I wrote Congressman Wamp several times opposing CAFTA. Why did he not reply until
just after he had voted FOR it? Why did nothing about his intentions and CAFTA appear in the paper until after the vote?
Why did he keep his intentions a secret? 8/6/05
A more appropriate bumper sticker for our cars or trucks might be "Lord
God - Please Forgive Us!". 8/1/05

Our State:
As the County Commissioners have just raised taxes on everybody, with
the bulk of the increase going into the school system, we need to ask "how much cost is being added by the Federal "No Child
Left Behind Act" and other mandates". Our Constitution does not provide for Federal involvement in education. In fact, James
Madison pointed this out to us.
While many on the School Board may be idiots or self important minityrants who love
to spend other peoples' money, it's a whole lot easier to replace them in the next election than it is to pry the Washington
bureaucracy off the back of your school kids.
